Diversion and Substance Abuse Classes at the University of Iowa

Attached is the flyer available from the University of Iowa regarding their substance abuse services, through University Student Health & Wellness.

The University offers non-OWI Substance Abuse Evaluations for their students at a rate of $80. For OWI-related Evaluations, students may proceed through the University of Iowa Chemical Dependency Services, which operates separately from Student Health & Wellness.

For students involved in the Johnson County Attorney’s Marijuana Diversion Program, the BASICS class is what would be required, if the class is taken through the University. This class is two sessions costing $96 and lasting one hour each.

The Diversion Program also requires that a clean UA is provided. This can be done through Student Health & Wellness at a rate of $35.

There are private clinics in Iowa City that can provide the necessary steps for completing the Diversion Program, but for enrolled students at the University of Iowa, the price and convenience of using Student Health & Wellness to complete this program cannot be beat.
